- Meet the O’Briens (Unsold pilot - produced in 1954) Starring Dave O'Brien, Jeff Donnell. Dave, an accident-prone young man and his wife, share a house with her parents. After wrecking his in-law's car, Dave goes to pick up the insurance money, but on the way home he gets conned into buying a car from a nice little old lady from Pasadena.
- Let’s Join Joanie (Unsold pilot - aired January 12, 1951) Joan Davis is the only performer listed in the credits, though TV fans will recognize Joe Kearns as Anatole. Events in the life of Joan Davis, a salesgirl for a store called "Hats by Anatole". Joan joins a health farm to impress her heartthrob, Jim Benson, who "likes his women husky". This show predates I Married Joan by a year.
"A 'pilot' is a film made by a producer who wants to pitch the idea for a TV series to the networks. If the network likes the pilot, or if they air the pilot and it gets good response, the producer gets a deal to make more episodes based on the pilot... usually 13 or 26, which will then be aired. If those do well in the ratings the network will request more episodes for a series. Many pilots get made every year, some make it to the air - most don't. We have included first episodes of series in this category, even though they're technically not pilots."
