A young girl decides that she will die when the last leaf drops from a dying vine outside her window, as lingering pneumonia slowly takes her will to live. Her neighbor, Art Carney, is an elderly artist frustrated by his inability to paint what is in his heart. In an attempt to save the young girl, he creates the masterpiece he has been struggling to paint. A beautifully shot and moving story. Art Carney at his dramatic best. Based on the short story by O. Henry.
"In films from the church there are rarely any credits attached, unless the film has a star who demands it. (In Hollywood, credit is considered 30 times more important than the money.) The thinking in Salt Lake City seems to be that the message is the important thing. They do have a point, but the cast and crew is important too. Many church films have had cast and crew members that have had, or gone on to have, stellar acting or production careers in film, on TV and on stage. If you have information regarding cast, crew, production details or trivia regarding any church film, please email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can fill in the information gaps . "
