1941 - (aka DRUMS OF AFRICA) It's amazing that this PRC jungle thriller hasn't been around before, but as far as we can tell, this is its first video release, and it's not half bad. Crabbe is a jungle doctor in an African village besieged by fever and marauding headhunters. Watch for the scene where he goes one on one with a ferocious lion. Meanwhile, Heyburn and Barnett are on safari looking for the lost city of the dead. They eventually find it, but are deserted by their native crew. Barnett is then attacked and almost killed by a giant snake. Lots of action and jungle thrills. One particularly grim scene has Middleton's pet tiger attacking a native headhunter. As cheap jungle thrillers go, this one's pretty good. 16mm.
